The recently appointed CEO of the Charities Regulatory Authority, John Farrelly, will update us on the Charities Regulator and discuss his role as CEO, how he envisages the Charities Regulator will operate and the practical implications for those advising charities and philanthropists.
In just the past few weeks, an Tánaiste Frances Fitzgerald TD has signed the statutory instrument to commence Part 4 of the Charities Act 2009 to give the Charities Regulator investigatory and enforcement powers and on 15 July 2016, the Charities Regulator launched its first Statement of Strategy which outlines its key objectives over the next three years. As such, it is now an opportune time to hear from Mr Farrelly on the issue of charity regulation in Ireland.
The seminar will take place on Wednesday morning, July 27 at 8:30am in the Wellington Suite of the Merrion Hotel, Upper Merrion Street, Dublin 2.
Non-members are welcome to attend and should send a cheque made payable to STEP Ireland for €50 to Siobhán O’Moore, Mazars, Harcourt Centre, Block 3, Harcourt Road, Dublin 2.
